EFFECTS OF AUMINA AND BAUXITE ON THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SUPERFLUXED NIGERIA IRON ORE SINTERS
Abstract
An attempt has been made to examine the effects of alumina and bauxite on the strength characteristics of superfluxed sinters. The results of the experiments indicate that alumina and bauxite superfluxed sinters are stronger than normal iron ore sinter. The strength minimum reportedly experienced at basicity 1.0-1.8 for normal sinter was absent for superfluxed bauxite and alumina sinters. A mixture of alkaline and bauxite gave even stronger sinter.
