Abstract

The concentration profile of contaminants in Oginigba creek. Port Harcourt has been investigated. The key parameters considered are based on the existing industrial activities in the area. Application of the two-dimensional dispersion and convection equations on the contaminants shows a gradual penetration of the dissolved molecules into the water body. However, the sources of pollutants to the creek are not to monitored/controlled, therefore it is concluded that hardness, COD, BOD, TSS. Lead and other contaminants concentration will continue increase. This increase is more predominant in the dry season than in the rainy season. Total hardness values in (mg/l) at the industrial effluent channel are101 and 45.3 for dry and wet seasons respectively.
