APPLICATION OF OSADEBE'S ALTERNATIVE REGRESSION MODEL IN OPTIMISING COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF PERIWINKLE SHELL - GRANITE CONCRETE
Abstract
Osadebe's Regression method of concrete design was used to formulate a model. The model is a mathematical equation of dependent variable - Response - and independent variables - Predictors. The model equation had several coefficients, whose values were determined by carrying out few laboratory tests. At the end of the laboratory tests, the compressive strengths were used to complete the model equation. More laboratory test points were carried our to test the adequacy of the model using student's t-test statistics. The test statistics found the model adequate for predicting the compressive strength periwinkle shell - granite concrete when the mix ratio is known and vice versa.
